She makes me laugh...that happy babe there! She's here to tell you that the bookmarks are going to Deb (the pink felty one with my doll illustration on it), Sarah (yesterday), and Kelley(wonder). The comments were so generously considered and some quite long so I decided to print them, cut them all to the same size with names at the bottom and picked from the basket. Thanks again for all the suggestions, I so appreciate the many good books mentioned. Some I read and adored -Kite Runner was my last beach read a few years ago. Old favorites- Austen, Christie, Steinbeck, Elizabeth Goudge, Stegner....and Kaye Gibbons. If you haven't read any of hers, Charms for the Easy Life, is a good place to start and a perfect summer read in a porch rocker. And don't forget Ann Patchett's Bel Canto, my favorite book ever I think. Thanks so much, I got a big, tall stack at the library today. Hoping you found something here too! xoC

Yeah, I am so excited. I sent you a private email. And I also wanted to say thank you for asking about the summer reading. I too have requested a TON of books from the library and got the first of them today...the first book in the Beatrix Potter mystery series. That one sounded like fun! Thanks again for the bookmark give away...I will treasure it.

Congrats to the winners!
Charlotte you are the first person to mention Elizabeth Goudge since I was in high school. I've been wanting to revist with her and "The White Witch." One of the first times I fell in love with plants and herbs was while reading it, long before I had a house or yard.
Have a great time at the beach!

Oh yay-I've written down some of your recommendations. I'll pick them up as soon as I can and looking so forward to some reading time. I recently finished Eat Pray Love. It was so great I didn't want it to end.

Congratulations to all the winners!
Thank you so much for asking for suggestions Charlotte! I was so excited to read about the Beatrix Potter based mystery series! I love the author's China Bayles series but had never heard of the Beatrix Potter one. I ran out and picked up the first two. :)

Oh, I do love Kaye Gibbons--she's another author whose characters become people I need to go and visit again and again (yes, when I love characters I have to read and reread--there are some I go back and visit at least once a year!)! I'm looking forward to reading some of your new-to-me authors! Aah, book LOVE! xo-Mel
