You are so right! They even had a news segment here in the Seattle area about not keeping your SS# in your wallet, purse or other place where a thief could get access to it.

Thanks for blogging about it. :-)

I've been following NieNie's blog since hearing of her accident. Very tragic.

And I've also done the phone number thing with my 47 pin numbers. Honestly, I cannot expect to remember all this stuff. So I have named my credit cards and they have addresses and phone numbers and everything in my home address book.

That's a great idea for your mum and her ss number. Fortunatley, I've got mine to memory and hopefully I'm a long way off before I need to keep a reminder, although there are days when I feel it's not that far off. Hah! I still have my original card filed away.
The community support for the Nielson's via blogging is wonderful.

Sounds like you had a "Stacation!" How very green of you!
I put my pin (4 number) in my cell phone- like my bank is Chase and I listed it as a phone number under "Charles Banks."

Charlotte, I love your idea for the SS number. I use that trick for my atm & credit card pin numbers because I can never remember them!
