I finished up a new design last night. After spending the day purging the studio of clutter, I rewarded myself with an hour of stitch play.
A bundle of cotton swatches (too pretty to give up) made a colorful patchwork border.
I'm a little in love.
This morning, as if I stepped into a real garden, the light was just right and it looks even prettier. From every angle. Every detail. (Even the ones I wasn't so sure about in the making.)
The sun's out. It's a spectacular summer day! I'm going to take a walk to town.

Gorgeous! I love waking up to a project that looks even better in the morning!

Charlotte,
Love this! So bright and cheery - made me smile after a looong work day (that's still not over). Will you be making this pattern available? Haven't stitched in a while, this makes me crave picking up a needle and the gloriously colored thread! Thanks for sharing. Best, Jeanette

INSPIRED!
Yes, you are!
I am teaching at a camp in Colorado next week - 14 12 and 13 year-old girls....We are going to be doing lots of stitching, and painting and drawing..
I think that the theme will be self-portraits, so we will be doing lots of exploration.
The more I see of your pieces, the more I think about what to present to the girls.....I hope they get hooked!!
Thanks for being so delightful, dear Charlotte...

Lovely! I sure know what you're referring to when you say you reward yourself by creating. I wish I could just spend all my time creating....let someone else do the work park of it all! But at least it's all good! ~Heidi

I just found your blog and I am in love with your stitching. The latest is just beautiful. Is it going to be on a quilt?
Please do not look at my blog :>(
I'm a realtor and I started it a while back and ran out of steam. I hope to get back at it someday. Oddly, I can't think of anything to write about. I like what I do, but I'd much rather read blogs about knitting, sewing, painting, and cooking. Oh dear!

Just finished Pam Garrison's "Happy Day" sampler and was so sad for lack of a project until I saw THIS! Off to your Etsy....
