It was a lovely holiday and I spent the morning tidying up. Every year, all that beautiful trash inspires me to make something. This is what I did with the afternoon, the crumpled paper and other bits from the wrappings.
Trace a jar onto a box. And then a smaller jar for the center.
Cut it out.
Pad it with rumpled paper and masking tape.
Wrap it with leftover ribbon from a gift.
Add more textiles or ribbons.
Gather up some pretty trims and decorate the top.
So much more fun than putting everything away or throwing it all out. One more ornament for the tree, a window or a cupboard latch.

Brilliant.
I've been looking for a way to make a little dream catcher for my granddaughter. I think I'll try this for the ring...

Charlotte, this is such a sweet idea--I am no longer putting up a big tree--just a tabletop one and a few of these scattered around the house would be so perfect--Thank you for the idea--you really are sooo creative...love it...Julierose

Such a sweet idea, Charlotte. Memories wrap around the form, too, I would think.

Adorable ornament! Perhaps a New Year's tree with memories of the past holiday to start it off would be fun. Wishing you a beautiful end to 2012 and a joy filled and creative 2013!

After making three wreaths from your project in Mollie Makes, this is the perfect size for using up those bits 'n pieces...thank you, again for great inspiration!

Love that! Now I know what to do with all that perfectly good wrapping paper after gift opening. I am always saving stuff from the trash to turn into "something"...some of the most creative things come about.

What a fabulous idea! I always keep the ribbons from wrappings because it seems a waste to throw them away, but I never do anything with them. Now I have no excuse!

I have been trying to find someplace to buy your Tilly fabric all in one place-instead of 1 or 2 here and there, it is very frustrating. I love this line, but very hard to buy it when no one carries it!
