Quite recently, Pam sent me this little handmade book. The pages inside are scraps from watercolor sheets and the cover, of course, is pure Pam. The girl inspires me constantly. A fabulous teacher, an adventurous artist and a wonderful friend. One night of our teaching trip to California, we all sat around the table and painted on brown paper with Pam's materials and encouragement. Big fun.
But without her here to push me forward, I was afraid to make any mark inside her beautiful, pristine book. Finally, I just did it.
Something small and safe way in the middle.
But since this timid image, I have filled 4 or 5 pages with color, pattern and designs. That's what she wanted me to do. So, I am.
It's getting easier.
Pam is teaching a class on May 11 at French General in LA. If I could, I would be there and if you can, you should sign up and go. This is one of my most favorite PG projects ever!
Seriously, Pam Garrison + French General = best art day ever. Don't miss it.
