Mo was home for a week for spring break. We didn't see much of her...off to march in the St Pat's Day parade, celebrate with the department, hang out with friends, shop, sleep, hang out more, go to the city to watch the parade, sleep, sleep, sleep.
But she did agree to have dinner out with us one night. She's a fairly picky eater and dislikes restaurant dining with us. We talk too much, ask too many parent-ish questions. But after dorm food, she was craving Penne a la Vodka so we went to a favorite trattoria nearby. There was so much before the meal...bread, appetizers, salads. When the entree came she wasn't hungry enough to finish it so we brought it home. Next day...off she went.
I ate the leftovers for lunch. Big mistake. Huge!
I made green pancakes. I did her laundry. Still in Mommy doghouse. For raiding the doggie bag!
Last effort. I made sugar cookies. She loves those. There was a slight softening. A little smile. Yikes, she was leaving to go back to school and still I'm in trouble.
To make matters worse, her dad washed the take-away container. It sat on the counter as an empty reminder of my brazen food-theft. But I saved myself at the end. Stickers, love-notes. Whatever. I'm so sorry! And there was a big huggy kiss to go with the reprieve. Whew! That was rough. She told me what to title this post. Okay, she still loves me. It's all good now.
oh the pain and the torture!!!! Can't even imagine! I thought you were a good person. Hmmmmm...pooooooooor Mo.
P.S. I'm sure it wonderful having her home even if she tortured her like that! Cookies = a very good apology!

Had to laugh...I've been in those shoes plenty of times. (Our younger daughter is in her second year of college...) One thing: don't mess with their food!
