Erin was looking over my shoulder at this image- our homemade valentine from 1988 when she was in 5th grade, Maggie in 2nd, Mo- in our arms. "Man, those were the best! Everyone was passing out punch-out Scooby Doo cards and we had these!"
Those were the days when I drew our holiday cards, birth announcements and a few greeting cards for a publisher. I could never get the hands to look right so all my decent drawings have paws or claws- even the robot- but this paperdoll snowman (with stick arms) was right up my narrow path. We quick-printed the design onto cardstock and they colored them in. Our best family valentine ever.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hoping you get to draw, cut and color with someone you love today. xoC
Adorable, Charlotte! Happy Valentine's Day to you! Hope you feel loved and special!

this year we broke down and bought the Valentine's cards. Since I had been so sick it was the best choice. This is probably the only time I ever did that but what can you do.
They did manage to make beautiful love bugs out of clay and give those as gifts so we did have somewhat of a homemade Valentine's Day. Also I made something fun for the boys that is on my post today.
Happy Heart Day Charlotte!

That's a great 'card'! I know I would've been thrilled to receive one of those, or to have a mother who had designed it :)
I know what you mean about hands! Mine always turn out like starfish or mittens!
Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours

So sweet, the memories... We used to do likewise, everything homemade (as much as possible). That's how it is when you live far away from stores, and love to craft! Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh, I just love your honesty about your creative solutions for hands! I'm just jumping into the freelance world (and 7 months into the world of motherhood too!) so it is very encouraging to know that someone as successful as yourself found ways to shuffle around problem areas! Thanks for the post!!!

So very cool! I miss coloring....do you think I'd be judged crazy if all by myself.....no kids to justify the activity...I bought a coloring book and just colored?
I could just say I'm practicing for when the upcoming grandbaby is able to hold a crayon. Ha!
