Looks so good I am tempted to try it!!

Sounds delish. Italian plums are a bit sweeter and dryer (denser) then other plums. They are wonderful for drying. I am glad it was all good. Clarice

Thatlooks delightful w/or w/out the cream! And, definitely good for the next morning - my mother always had pie for breakfast when it was around. Even better, my father would take it to her while she was still in bed!!

What memories your post evokes. Growing up, my German mom used to make a Plum Kuchen that I loved loved loved! Hers looked more like a plum pizza pie, but it was delish. I may just have to put a 'bug in her hear' to do a repeat. Yum. LindaSonia

Oh man, call me hungry but even if I wasn't I'd be longing for a taste of that yummy looking plum torte! I do hope you share the recipe now. YOUR recipe inspired by Nikki's recipe, isn't that right?! Glad it was the perfect dessert for your dinner!

That looks delicious!
It looks like a French clafoutis? Do you know if it's the same thing? Sounds like such a nice evening!

You should have saved a piece for you know who!

As I was reading, I was afraid you were going to say that the plums you bought were too juicy when they baked. That was the problem I had when I recently baked something that called for Italian plums but wasn't able to find them. I think Italian plums have a very short season or something. But it sounds like it was wonderfully successful... and I'm hungry now!...It's always fun to find a new favorite recipe! Thanks for sharing!
