Twig craft.
If the driftwood tree is too much to take on, these ornaments are a good warm-up. Collect some back yard twigs and use your garden clippers to trim them up into shorter lengths. Cut out a cardboard backing to resemble a house shape and then start gluing the twigs to it, cutting to size as you go. I added a door and button for a focal point, but it seems a perfect spot for a photo in the center too. Glue on some sparkle stems, an evergreen spray (real or faux) and a curly stem for smoke (my favorite part). I forgot to add a hanger so I drew one on to show you. A piece of floral wire will do it because this is so lightweight.
I'm a big fan of tacky glue, found materials and simple ideas. Our family recipe for a happy, home-made holiday. Peace. xoC
what pretty ideas and doable too. GREAT new pic!! Blessings

This idea is a precious one, and with three acres of timber, I have plenty of that "found" material!
May I also say: lovely new photo of a woman who is beautiful inside and out. I was so happy to meet you in Omaha. Merry Christmas, Charlotte.

Well, gosh, these are charming too! I love things made with twigs. The star at the top of my Christmas tree is a big twig one, with an angel that my friend Liisa made in the center of it. Everything is so pretty here Charlotte.

Thanks for all the good stuff you share Charlotte. I love these two great pieces, and the fact that they are made of things we have nearby, or can easily find. They are so sweet!

Love both projects. I've got my spoons/forks (thrifted, vintage) lined up ready for glue in the star shape like your twig one! Fun!

The Star is super lovely. The twisty pipe cleaner to connect the ends - great idea! I so want one of these for myself. :0)

Hi Charlotte, not sure when you're last post will be before Christmas...so I'm wishing you a joy filled one. Great new pic, yummy twig stuff(I'll be in Alaska for a little while and I think I'll collect some twigs from there and bring them back to play with)...got one of Claudine hellmuth's houses done, setting small things out here and there -puttig together a winter something for the front door...still have the small pumpkins out -should bring them in and see if they're still good. Joy joys and happy happies.

Oh, my kids are all over that twig star. I had to make them wait until tomorrow to go find sticks outside to use for it. What a great idea...and something our 9 year old children can do independently!
